FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

How can I be sure a career in real estate is for me?
Real estate is, above all else, a customer service business. You will be involved in what will be one of the biggest purchases or sales in someone’s life. It is a people-oriented and problem solving business. We would encourage you to sit down and review your career objectives and what you want to obtain from your career. Discuss those issues and goals with someone who knows first hand the real estate industry and then make your decision.

How much money will I make in the real estate industry?
As a real estate professional, you are an independent contractor. You have unlimited potential – the sky is the limit! Although you will be associated with a real estate agency, look at it as your own business, not a job. As in any business, you will get out of it what you put into it. Talking to brokers and agents will give you a real idea of what is possible.

I have not been in school for years. Am I going to be able to handle the course?
Of course you can! Everyone in the classroom has the same butterflies…you are not alone! Our instructors do a great job at simplifying the materials covered. Course concepts will be covered several times. Outside study time is also needed.

Is there a lot of outside work in the classes?
Attendance is a must and taking good notes in class is a great help but time must be spent outside of the classroom studying to pass the course. Set aside time after each class to complete homework, study and review material that was covered. Go over all the quizzes that are given, they will assist you in spotting those areas you will need to work on.

What if I miss a class?
The Indiana Real Estate Commission requires you attend 80% of the required 90 hour course. Let us know ahead of time so we can give you any handouts and materials that will be covered in the next class or just give us a call.
